04/01/2012 - Busy bee

Very proactive day! Did all the laundry, dishes and paid the douché all before 10am.

Got fuel, and came back to camp. Read a horrible book, all about love and how simply perfect every aspect of their lives were. He was a billionaire and she was just a small town girl with a sordid past. So lame. And they lived happily ever after. I hate books like that! And I feel for the women who read them and then are dissatisfied with their lives. I'm going to call it Edward Cullen syndrome! Dreaming up the perfect man. Men aren't perfect, they just like us. And if you find one whose flaws you are able to love, and who loves you despite yours, then that's more than enough - well for me anyway.

More seafood for dinner :) I'm going to try atop eating red meat and see how long I can go! Not sure why I'm doing it though.

Had a fun night beating Luke at Monopoly :P then watched Planet of the Apes.

03/01/2012 - Diddly Squat

Dropped Luke off, slept until 8, had breakfast and a got ready to do nothing ALL DAY :)

Tanned, studied, ate, was friendly to strangers around the camp and had a drink of alcohol during the day! Which put me back to sleep until lunch.

Been brainstorming about the wedding a lot :)

Fetched Luke at 17:30, dropped Benny at the pub and went shopping. Whole mussels, crab meat, prawns and calamari for dinner!

Had an awesome night cooking and chatting. I love that boy to bits!

02/01/2012 War Horse Day

Another 5am start for Lukey. I came home and slept. Not sure how much longer my sanity can stand that baby galah!

Was pretty windy this morning so I fried my eggs inside the tent, which was fun but I felt like an ant in a pizza oven after only a few seconds of frying.

Went to pay for more nights at the camp ground. Very creepy owner offered me job and said many very inappropriate things including, "I want to meet a girl your age" and something else about beautiful South African girls. I was going to tan today...not anymore.

Had a shower and took a drive to Botanical Gardens. Nothing much to write home about, except that the tortoises swim up to you and beg for food! I didn't have any so I blew them kisses instead :) Then I rememberd how alone I was, and how many spiders would be there, and I walked briskly back to the car and left.

Went straight from there to the cinema, expecting a movie to start at 13:00! Alas I misheard Mr Redneck and not only did I accidentally book a ticket for the gold room (double the price) but I also booked a later showing. Anyway the movie was good, bit too much artificial lighting and overly dramatic music. To be honest I was let down, it seemed more like a Disney production than Spielberg. He is good at war scenes though, that I can't deny!

After that I raced to the shops, bought marinara mix and stuff for a mornay, 2 bags of ice for the esky and rushed back to et everything ready.

Benny, a guy Luke works with at the moment, needed a lift home, and his dad sells guitars, so naturally we went there for a bit. Met Alan and Ingrid, Ben's lovely parents and Luke got to play with a few electric guitars. He will probably buy one tomorrow.

We came home(tent) after dark and decided to cook inside. I had forgotten a few key ingredients so it wasn't too fancy but I enjoyed it anyway :)

Chat chat chat. Sleep

First Day of the New Year -2012!!

I'm definitely getting old...I slept up until 23:59, received my New Years kiss...and fell back asleep.

Resolution #1: Stop being a granny!

Luke had to work today so I dropped him off at 5am at the boat, and went back to bed. By bed I mean the awesome foam mattress in out awesome huge tent, situated in the best camp ground I have ever been to! If it weren't for the toilet being 300 meters away, I would consider this heaven. We have fairy lights set up on our tent and an esky packed full of delicious food!

So 01/01/2012, The Year of the Fiancé! I'm only slowly coming to terms with it, it came as a surprise, but I definitely couldn't see my self having a family and growing old with a better man than Luke! So I am honored to be his future wife :)

I spent the day doing exactly as I pleased; wrote down my resolutions, ate some watermelon, solved the combination lock (which made me ecstatic!) and then went for a walk in the park from which I could watch my fiancé (I'll be saying that a lot!) and his fellow boat people working in the harbor.

Then I went to watch Alvin and the Chipmuncks, Chipwrecked, with three kids, a 9, 5 and 2 year old. I laughed more at them laughing at the film, than the actual film itself. They sang too much, and I spent the whole movie wondering what their actual voices sounded like. But it was pleasing none the less, and we all left smiling.

Then I bought some Brie, crackers, smoked trout and mussels, tidied the tent and awaited my jolly sailor bold :)

We love camping, its something we have both grown up doing. And it gives us lots of time to talk, which the TV doesn't allow when we are home.

After 2 drinks I was goneski and Luke stayed up playing guitar.

I hope the rest of the year will be this awesome. It is what you make it.

Resolutions: Pay off camera
Improve my surfing
Do more volunteering
Work on my photography
Work on maintaining happy, love-filled relationships with Luke and our friends and families
Keep in more contact with my dad
Be friendlier to strangers haha
Save some moola for our wedding :D

WHat ever you do, do it with all you've got!
